Polar Express Day 12/21/12

Dear Parents,
As we begin to learn about the various winter holidays, we will also be studying the book “The Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg.  Students will come to school on Friday, December 21, 2012 dressed in pajamas ready to take a ride on “The Polar Express.”  Students will not be permitted to change into their pajamas at school – they must arrive already dressed.  It is suggested that all students wear sneakers for safety reasons.

Polar Express Day will be a fun day of learning for all!  Please keep in mind that participation in this fun day is a privilege.

We will also be having a GIFT EXCHANGE when we take our adventure on The Polar Express.  Please purchase a small gift costing no more than $5.  All gifts should be sent to school wrapped.  Allow your child to help with the selection.  If your child is a boy, send a gift for a boy and label it BOY.  If your child is a girl, send a gift for a girl and label it GIRL.  If it is something your child will enjoy, most likely other students will enjoy it as well.  WRAPPED GIFTS NEED TO BE RECEIVED BY TUESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH. If you do not want your child to participate, please let me know so that all students will have a gift!
Thanks so much for all that you do!

Sincerely,
Mrs. N. Church, M.S.
